We're the people who pick up the phone
Point of Sales Capital Region sells, installs and supports point of sale systems and credit card readers across eleven counties in upstate New York. The thing that makes us different isn't the hardware — it's that the person who set your system up is the person who answers when it stops working.
Why local support is the actual product
Here's the honest version of how this industry works. POS hardware is largely commodity. The software platforms — Clover, Square, Toast, SwipeSimple — are available through hundreds of resellers. Processing rates vary, but not infinitely. So when a business buys from a national vendor at a slightly lower price, they're usually not making a mistake on paper.
The mistake shows up later. A kitchen printer stops routing on a Friday at 7pm. A scanner quits reading mid-holiday-season. A terminal won't take chip cards and the line is six deep. At that moment, the thing you need is not a competitive rate or a feature comparison. You need a person in a truck. That's what we sell.
What that means concretely: you call (518) 714-0988, a local tech picks up during business hours, and most issues get resolved the same day, on-site. Not a ticket number. Not a callback window. Not a chat window staffed from a different time zone.
We're not a single-platform reseller
Most POS companies carry one platform, which means whatever you describe, the answer is the thing they sell. That's how a six-table café ends up with an enterprise restaurant package, and how a busy convenience store ends up on a tablet that can't keep up at 5pm.
We work across Clover, Square, Toast and SwipeSimple, which means we can tell you when the cheaper option is the right one. The most useful thing we do is sometimes talk someone out of a purchase.
What's included that others charge for
- Hardware sizing for your actual space and volume
- A line-by-line review of your current processing statement
- Menu, catalog or service list built before install day
- On-site installation on your counter, not a shipped box
- Staff training by role, on your floor, with your items
- Offline mode tested by actually disconnecting your internet
- A follow-up visit during your first genuinely busy period
- New-hire training later, as you grow
What we won't do
We won't quote you a hardware number and then charge per incident to keep it running. We won't tell you a platform does something it doesn't and let you discover it on install day. We won't publish a fake "starting at" price to get you on the phone — your cost depends on your hardware and your rate, and we'll put both in writing before you commit to anything.
And we'll tell you when we're not the right answer. Occasionally the right platform for a business is an industry-specific system we don't carry. We'd rather send you somewhere else and keep the relationship than sell you something that won't work.
Where we work
Eleven counties: Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, Washington. Same-day on-site is routine through the Albany–Schenectady–Troy core and out through Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls. In the outer counties — Lake George, Cobleskill, Hudson, Gloversville — we schedule visits and triage remotely the same day. We'll be straight with you about response time for your specific town when you call.
Ready to talk to someone local?
Call and describe your business. We'll tell you what it needs — and what it doesn't.
